よわる【弱る】

1 〔衰える〕 weaken; grow weak [feeble]; be enfeebled; be debilitated; languish; be infirm; be emaciated; fall in health; fall away; be run down; break down; (病人が) sink; (気持ちが) be dejected; be dispirited; be downhearted; be downcast; be cast down; (力･権力などが) wane; 〔材質などに強度がなくなる〕 lose strength. [⇒よわらせる]
